The Commission for the Accreditation of Medical Screening Services (CAMS) provides a method of voluntary accreditation for companies providing medical screening services to the general public. Created as a subsidiary of the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission, the CAMS accreditation is based upon written standards that define the minimum requirements deemed necessary for a service to provide quality noninvasive vascular screening examinations. The accreditation process includes completion of a comprehensive application and submission of example cases that are reviewed for compliance to the written standards and assessment of quality. The review process takes approximately three months from the time of application submission. Upon being granted accreditation, the applicant service will then be listed as an accredited service on the CAMS page of the IAC Vascular Testing website, and given permission to use the CAMS logo in conjunction with screening events and advertisement, demonstrating the commitment to provide quality screening services to their participants.
