Title: Marketing/Communications Assistant
Reports to: Marketing/Communications Director
Based at: IAC – Ellicott City, MD
Job purpose: The Marketing/Communications Assistant assists the Marketing/Communications team in maintaining and implementing the print and digital promotional efforts of the IAC and its divisions, for both internal and external use.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  1. Coordinates logistical aspects related to IAC’s presence at multiple trade show exhibits and special events throughout each year
  2. Assists with the development and maintenance of various printed marketing, communication and promotional materials, including brochures, postcards, certificates and advertisements
  3. Processes monthly mailings to existing customers as part of IAC’s reaccreditation retention program
  4. Assists with identifying topics and writing content for e-mail campaigns/bulletins
  5. Assists with the writing/content development and implementation of online communications (i.e., e-mail campaigns, webinars and webcasts, social media updates, websites)
  6. Provides distribution of IAC marketing materials (i.e., Press Releases, Seals of Accreditation) and related assistance to client facilities
  7. Provides backup support for live webinars and recorded webcasts, interacting with vendor to facilitate participants’ and presenters’ use of platform, as well as handling related follow-up tasks after each event
  8. Handles daily website update of IAC accredited facilities, reports, data maintenance and performs various other tasks using in-house database
  9. Proofreading and editing
  10. Other various in-house web and print projects, as needed


  1. Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required, 1-2 years of experience in the Marketing/Communications field preferred
  2. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), in a Windows environment; experience in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro) a plus
  3. Strong writing and editing skills, with exceptional attention to detail
  4. Versatility to handle different types of projects
  5. Knowledge of social media for business (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) a plus
  6. Knowledge of internet/e-mail marketing a plus
  7. Enthusiastic, reliable, innovative, creative, forward-thinking
  8. Professional, customer-service oriented demeanor both online and offline

Title: Application Processor
Reports to: Director of Application Processes
Based at: IAC – Ellicott City, MD
Job purpose: To ensure the organization and processing of the application process and written correspondence while assisting in the processing and review of accreditation applications for all IAC Echocardiography division.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  1. Process written correspondence and accreditation portfolios according to policy.
  2. Office organization to include compiling and purging of files, archiving files and preparation of new applicant laboratory files as needed.
  3. Review accreditation applications for completeness; compile lists of any missing material and request additional information from applicant laboratories.
  4. Respond to inquiries regarding the non-technical aspects of the IAC application/accreditation process through telephone communications, fax correspondence and e-mail. Process all requested material when returned from the applicant laboratory.
  5. Process, track and organize all plaque orders, certificate requests and requested IAC extra according to the current IAC policy.
  6. Phone support and assistance with the IAC distributions lists.
  7. Promote the IAC through participation in exhibiting as assigned.
  8. Maintain a working knowledge of pertinent aspects of the application process, the database, applicant laboratory notification process and generating of written correspondence.
  9. Assist marketing as needed.

Skill Sets/Prerequisites:

  • If not previously working in an IAC division, the individual will typically have previous office experience
  • Basic office skills
  • Basic computer skills to include use of Word
  • Good written and oral communication
  • Ability to follow direction and complete tasks with limited/appropriate direct supervision
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently
