Introducing Sandra DePetris, RDCS,
ICAEL Associate Technical Manager

Sandra DePetris, RDCS, joined the staff of the ICAEL in September 2008 as Associate Technical Manager. The role of Associate Technical Manager is one that augments the level of technical expertise that the ICAEL offers to laboratories. Ms. DePetris works directly with ICAEL Technical Manager Beverly Gorman, RDCS, on clinically related aspects of the accreditation process.
Prior to joining the ICAEL, Ms. DePetris worked for six years as Cardiology Technologist/ Technical Coordinator for Drs. G. Robert Medalie and Michael D. Pressel in Baltimore, Maryland, where she also assisted the laboratory in earning ICAEL accreditation. Ms. DePetris has over 30 years of experience in various clinical settings. In December 2004, Ms. DePetris earned the designation of Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) in Adult Echocardiography from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography. In addition, she had previously earned the designation of Registered Cardiovascular Technologist (RCVT) from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International. Ms. DePetris is also certified by the American Heart Association in Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR).
When asked about her position, Ms. DePetris remarked, “I consider it a privilege to be a part of the process that encourages and helps Echo labs become accredited and recognized for excellence and quality!”
