Introducing Gina Witt, AS, RDMS, RVT,
ICAVL Associate Technical Manager

Gina Witt, AS, RDMS, RVT, joined the staff of the ICAVL in February 2010 as Associate Technical Manager. The role of Associate Technical Manager is one that augments the level of technical expertise that the ICAVL offers to laboratories. Ms. Witt works directly with Marge Hutchisson, LPN, RVT, RCVT, RDCS, Technical Manager of the ICAVL, on clinically related aspects of the accreditation process.
Ms. Witt brings to the ICAVL a diverse range of clinical experience spanning a 15-year career in vascular ultrasound. Prior to joining the ICAVL, she worked for 13 years at the Doctors Vascular Laboratory/Horizon Surgical Group in Rockville, Maryland, where she held the position of Technical Director for seven years. During her tenure, Ms. Witt assisted the laboratory with applying for and earning ICAVL accreditation through three application submissions. Since 2000, Ms. Witt has also served as Clinical Coordinator, Clinical Instructor and Lecturer for the Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program at Montgomery College in Takoma Park, Maryland. Ms. Witt earned the Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) credential in 1995 and the Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) credential in 1999 from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
When asked about her new position, Ms. Witt remarked, “It has always been very important to me to use my skill and experience to foster both the technical proficiency and ethical integrity of the next generation of local vascular sonographers through clinical instructorship and didactic support. I now look forward to expanding that responsibility by affiliating myself with the ICAVL, an organization responsible for setting those standards for a nation!”
