Serving as the basis for the accreditation program, The ICAVL Standards are an extensive document defining the minimal requirements for noninvasive vascular laboratories to provide high quality care. The Standards are used by laboratories as both a guideline and the foundation to create and achieve realistic quality care goals.
Whether applying for first-time accreditation or reaccreditation, the first step toward success is review of the Standards by every member of the laboratory staff involved in the application.
The ICAVL Standards are divided into seven areas. All laboratories must complete the Organization section. Laboratories
may apply in any combination of the other areas, as suited to
the services offered by each laboratory. The
newest section, Screening, was developed and released in October
2005. The most recent version of all documents can be found
here.
Please note that the following documents are The ICAVL Standards for accreditation only. These are the documents that laboratories must use when
preparing for accreditation. To proceed with the application process, laboratories will need create an account in order to access the Online Accreditation application.
