ICAVL Accreditation
»

To date, the ICAVL is aware that the following insurers or companies have adopted vascular reimbursement directives. While the ICAVL attempts to stay abreast of reimbursement policies as a service to the vascular community, these policies are changed and updated regularly by the insurance carriers. Therefore, the ICAVL recommends that you contact the insurance carriers in your area for the most accurate and current information. If you are aware of additional payment policies, or have questions about the information posted, please e-mail Marketing Director Tamara Sloper at reimbursement@intersocietal.org.

Medicare Payment Policies

There are several states in which the Medicare carrier REQUIRES either accreditation of the laboratory and/or technologist credentialing, for reimbursement of vascular studies. Medicare communicates vascular payment policy primarily through contractor-specific Local Coverage Determinations (LCDs).

Enhancement to Online Accreditation Allows Facilities to Enter and Store NPI Data and/or Medicare Enrollment Numbers

NOVEMBER 2011 | The IAC recently released an update to its Online Accreditation application and enhanced the way in which it collects and stores identification information, specifically National Provider Identifier (NPI) data and Medicare enrollment numbers for each participating facility.

It is important for Vascular laboratories to update this information in your IAC Online Accreditation account as most insurers now request verification of accreditation status via data file transfers. For those facilities that have not yet accessed the new Online Accreditation format, it is highly recommended that you login to your account at this time. The temporary login information was sent to each account holder when Online Accreditation was launched in September 2009 for Vascular laboratories.

To view the full instructions of updating the NPI data or Medicare enrollment numbers, click here.
