The ICAVL Welcomes New Board Members

the October 2005 issue
Robert T. Eberhardt, MD, FACC, FAHA joins the ICAVL Board
of Directors as a representative of the American Society of
Echocardiography. Dr. Eberhardt serves as Director of the Noninvasive
Vascular Laboratory at both the Boston Medical Center / Boston
University School of Medicine in Boston, MA, and the Quincy
Medical Center in Quincy, MA. He is also a staff member of the
Lipid Clinic at Boston Medical Center. For the past six years,
Dr. Eberhardt has also served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine
at the Boston University School of Medicine. Upon earning his
M.D. at Albert Einstein College of Medicine (AECOM) in Bronx,
NY in 1993, Dr. Eberhardt completed his residency and internship
in Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Hospital, Boston, MA, followed
by a fellowship in Cardiovascular Medicine and training in Vascular
Medicine at the Boston Medical Center. Dr. Eberhardt is an active
member of several professional societies; he is a Fellow of
the AHA Council on Clinical Cardiology, the American College
of Cardiology, and the Society for Vascular Medicine and Biology.
In addition to his extensive research, he lectures on the regional
and national levels and stays involved in public services such
as screening and heart disease education. Since 1998, he has
been published in reports, reviews, books, journals, and abstracts.
Emile
R. Mohler, III, MD is a representative for the Society for
Vascular Medicine and Biology, where he is former Secretary
and Trustee. Dr. Mohler is the Director of Vascular Medicine
for the University of Pennsylvania Health System, and is an
attending physician at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania,
the Presbyterian Medical Center, and the Philadelphia VA Medical
Center. Since 1996, he has been Director of Vascular Medicine
and currently is Associate Professor of Medicine at the University
of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Having earned his MD at
the Georgetown University School of Medicine, Dr. Mohler completed
his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Georgetown
University Medical Center and his Cardiovascular Fellowship
at the Indiana University Medical Center. A member of numerous
professional and scientific societies, Dr. Mohler is a Fellow
of the American College of Cardiology, the Society for Vascular
Medicine and Biology, the American Heart Association, and the
American College of Physicians. The co-author of two books,
Dr. Mohler also serves as an ad hoc reviewer and editorial board
member for numerous publications, and has been published extensively
in journals, abstracts, editorials, reviews, book chapters and
committee reports.
Joy
R. Peterson, RVS, RVT joins the ICAVL Board of Directors
as a representative of the American Society of Echocardiography.
Ms. Peterson is Technical Director for Vascular Ultrasound at
the Wisconsin Heart and Vascular Clinics in Milwaukee, WI. She
is currently enrolled in the B.S. in Vascular Ultrasound program
at the Oregon Institute of Technology. Of her 26 years of experience
in the health care field, Ms. Peterson has devoted 21 years
to vascular ultrasound. Ms. Peterson is actively involved in
several professional organizations. In addition to ASE, she
has been a member of the Society for Vascular Ultrasound since
1984, and serves as President of the Milwaukee Area Vascular
Ultrasonographers.
