Serving as the basis for the accreditation program, the IAC Standards for Vascular Testing Accreditation are an extensive document defining the minimal requirements for Vascular Testing laboratories to provide high quality care. The Standards are used by laboratories as both a guideline and the foundation to create and achieve realistic quality care goals.
The Standards are reviewed periodically by the Board of Directors and revised as needed. As a new component to the accreditation process, once approved by the IAC Vascular Testing Board of Directors, proposed Standards are posted to the IAC Vascular Testing website for a 60-day public comment period. The IAC will specify the method of submission and date by which written comments must be received in the IAC office. At the close of the comment period, the IAC Vascular Testing Board of Directors will review comments, consider modifications as needed and vote for final approval of the Standards. Laboratories are notified of changes to the published Standards, and the most current version of the Standards can be viewed or printed from the IAC Vascular Testing website.
