Following careful review and consideration of the comments received, the Board of Directors voted final approval of the Standards. The IAC provides facility accreditation specific to cardiovascular catheterization procedures in the following areas:

  • Adult Diagnostic Catheterization
  • Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI)
  • Valve Interventions
  • Structural Heart Interventions
  • Complex Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD)
  • Pediatric Cardiovascular Catheterization

Standards Now Available

In releasing a new program for cardiovascular catheterization accreditation, the IAC continues its commitment to quality by offering a program that balances the changing needs of both the cardiovascular catheterization community and the general public by influencing the quality of patient care provided. The IAC Standards and Guidelines for Cardiovascular Catheterization Accreditation are the most important component.

Serving as the basis for the accreditation program, the Standards are an extensive document defining the minimal requirements for cardiovascular catheterization facilities to provide quality care.
